Anybody who has worked in retail or foodservice is familiar with the phenomenon in this comic. There was one time where a competitor had a 45 minute wait on something that takes 7 minutes to cook, which caused a customer to prefer the restaurant I work at. I was surprised at the wait that the customer told me about. Well, a few months later, all of our fryers were occupied and sure enough, we had a 45 minute wait on something that takes 7 minutes to cook. And then there are the customers who seem to have the absolute worst luck, only coming when we just happen to be out of the one thing that we NEVER run out of. It’s absolutely bizarre.
