Actually I think the lack of animation is very helpful to that absurdly quiet moment you speak of in the description. It's almost like in the movies when everything goes silent at these points in the plot.

Also the glass and the falling gives me this weird illusion of underwater weightlessness

I'm so glad you said that, because I was trying to make it seem intense but almost peaceful. Floating instead of shown being violently tossed, trying to speak but no words coming out, etc.... like being underwater!

Yeah I definitely got that underwater feel too! For awhile I even thought they were actually underwater, too.

I think it's the glass in that one panel, it kinda looks like bubbles!

Yeah!! I've never been in that terrible of an accident, but I remember falling down the stairs as a kid. It was so scary but cool. It felt so slow and I remember weird details.

Tried recapturing that, but you know not falling down just three carpeted steps.

I've been hit by cars multiple times but I can't recall any details of anything. kinda jealous right now. seems my body's not so tight with adrenaline.

Haha!! That makes me so happy that you "hear" it. When I was watching videos of breaking glass, I noticed how audible something only visual can be.

Your animations bring so much life to every panel, and you push that limited palette so far!
And like a few have mentioned before, this scene is punctuated quite well with the layout and the lack of animation

Haha! I drew Bruno with two mutts in mind: a puggle or a shepherd/lab. I've been going more with shepherd/lab, because I like the idea of two All American Hero Breeds in one but realistically he'd probably be a puggle since he's smaller. Dog science~

Haha I reaaally love the shepherd lab idea, it also helps because you can just draw a muzzle instead of having to worry about drawing a lump and a bunch of wrinkles. And oh my goodness, I feel so spoiled/lucky that I don't have to wait that long for the next update hahaha. DEFINITELY going to read it before work tomorrow (I work late). But oh my goodness, if he's a puggle, this would just make this even more awesome, which I didn't think was possible 0:

ah man tell me about it, I don't follow too many webcomics because I am impatient with how they update. So I don't take it as an insult if people choose to wait a few weeks or whatever and come back to multiple pages. I do, however, try to make each update kind of pay off! I hate to stop right in the middle of a conversation, so I try to tailor each update appropriately even if that means multiple pages in one. Which is why this one is so late :c WEBCOMICS ARE HARD.
