It was hot, even for July. Trista sighed as she wiped her brow, looking at the thermometer she had mounted on the front porch of her beach house.
" Ugh...102?!" the seal girl groaned.
Trista looked back into her quaint little home. She was satisfied with the cleaning she had just done. Every nick nack, book and piece of furniture was in its proper place.
" Time to go for a swim!" Trista squealed happily to herself.
She darted to her bedroom. Throwing off her shirt and shorts, stumbling clumsily as she pulled off her panties at the same time reaching into her drawer for her favorite baby blue bikini. She left on her choker that she always wore.
Running through the house, she picked up her towel from the bathroom door. Her bare feet thudding across the wooden deck of the porch and down the steps onto the white sand.
" Oh, almost forgot!" she said sliding to a stop. She ran back to the base of the steps and picked up the yellow inner tube she had leaning there.
" Can't forget my swimming buddy."
Trista hurried across the hot sands and jumped on her tube laying on her belly. She giggled and floated around the shallow lagoon her home was built on. The water felt so cool and refreshing after cleaning house all day. Trista sighed and relaxed with a happy smile on her face. She was always happy in the water.
Hours slipped bay as Trista floated, swam and dived around the lagoon. It was only when her belly growled did she decide it was time to head in. Standing up in the water, she took her tube in hand and wadded towards shore.
A shape behind her moved in the corner of her eye. Trista turned, fearing it was a shark but smiled finding a small sea turtle. It's little green head poking from the water and the top of its shell showing.
" Well, hey there little guy. I bet you've been swimming with me all day and I never saw you, huh?" she said giggling as the sea turtle swam calmly closer to her.
Turtles had always been a favorite of hers and she had never seen one swim this close to anyone before. It looked like a younger turtle so maybe it didn't know to be afraid of her.
" Well, the lagoon is all yours little buddy. I need to get some lunch." Trista said, turning to wade through the water.
The sea turtle flapped its fins against the water, swimming smoothly behind her. Trista looked back and giggled.
" No no Mr.Turtle, you can't come home with me. Go and play."
She continued to walk and the turtle continued to follow.
Trista looked down as the turtle swam close to her tail. It stared up at her with its little blue eyes and Trista couldn't help but smile at it.
She finally reached the shore and assumed the turtle would stay in the water. But the small sea turtle continued its pursuit, pulling itself as quickly as possible across the white sands.
" Well, I guess since your being so persistent I can't tell you to go away." she said giggling. She leaned down and scooped up the turtle, who didn't fight or struggle when she did.
" You really like me huh? I guess I will have to give you a name. Hmmm..." Trista thought for a moment. " Oh, I know. Shellmeo!"
She giggled and held the turtle up to her face as she set the tube next to the stairs.
" Come on lover boy, lets get some lunch." Trista said as she skipped up the stairs of the porch and into the house.
