This was sort of a vent art piece I did a few days ago (all fixed now!) and decided to try lineless art. Which all in all I'm quite proud of :D Constructive criticism is always helpful!

Simple vent art, straight and to the point, and this popped up as the first preview icon and I grinned a bit, you just don't see much quite to the point on my idea of a "vent" vs "over dramatic" some days.
Love the variation and the more subtle shades in the shadows, and the color palette in general. I would suggest being careful, even though it was a vent piece, on the direction and perception of the actual hand. I admit I had to sit and look at it a while to decide which way the hand was facing, because the shape of the thumb could be seen either way from where the coloration of the claw actually starts. Just threw me off for a couple minutes. Otherwise, nice practice, keep it up!

Yea, hands, I -always- have trouble with them Hopefully I can do some more like this and practice some more :3 I honestly really enjoyed working on this piece, and I might take up this sort of thing more often :D
And yes! I understand what you mean about the vent vs overdramatic part :P Nowadays 'vent' art is all blood and gore, And what will catch the most attention xD

BUT HEY since you actually asked for it will give you a little constructive crit!
For a first attempt this is definitely really good!
I was gonna get detailed but I'll keep it simple with some tips perhaps?
- Check your values when working line less! De-saturate or throw any shade of gray on a separate layer set to saturation. If the grays blend together too much, you know you have an issue! Try and keep them separated by varying the shades of color you use next to each other (takes practice of course aha).
- Not all edges are soft edges! I can only suggest to actually observe how light falls on objects, but can give this example: The light under the hand would have fairly hard edge all around, as it is so close to the table - but the shirt would be as soft as you have made it.
- Keep things simple! I mean, this is pretty simple, but the shirt would not probably have such harsh lines on it. AGAIN, OBSERVATION aha. It's kind of tedious to observe, but hey, it does sometimes help lol.
.....OKAY THAT GOT DETAILED SORRY.
I hope it all makes sense though ~u~;;
I feel silly actually making the comment but I dunno man
I DUNNO

kidding of course :3
Thank you so much for the advice! I'm -really- new to anything shading wise even, so this was a -huge- step trying to work with lineless since I know shading is a big part of it. I will definitely apply the advice you gave to me on my next project :D Thank you once again for being so helpful! ^.^
