A lot of the pieces I do are a joy, and they just magically evolve on the paper. This one was work! One hard, long, exhausting week!
It would have been easier if he was a color...say red or blue, but no...He's Platinum. What the hell color is platinum anyway? (I know that it's one of the most powerful dragons according to game terms and that it's a metallic silvery color. However red has a pencil, green has a pencil, platinum...grab a handful a pencils and layer, layer, layer!) :takes a deep breath: However I did learn a lot from this piece. (More than just why I charge more for scales!) I love the sunset and his pose.

Hahaha...I feel the same way, though I haven't even opened my Prismacolors yet for multiple reasons:
1) My coloring skill hasn't developed yet; plus I'm still using icky PaperJam sketch pad. I don't want to waste watercolors on that
2) I'm developing my skill of coloring with RoseArt; I'm using crappy colors on crappy paper, so something should turn out right :D

Oh, thanks for clarifying :D. I've only got Watercolor Prismacolors, and I'm trying to get through my crappy supplies before I do anything else. Plus, it offers me practice with overall sketches and what to think about.
Waxy soft lead, eh? I'll have to try those [but only when I get through RoseArt :D]
