Heh, neither did I, if watching cartoons and playing PC games being my main hobby even at the age of 33 is any indication.
I understand there was a spinoff to the series where Willy Fogg and Romy and the gang travel to the bottom of the sea... I keep seeing that in the DVD bargain bin. Was that any good?

There were not much female characters, but for example in the circus in Japan there was that pig girl who was crush on Passepartout :D I mean in around the world -series.
I don't remember so well those spinoff series, but I think there was not females in Nautilus or in the center of earth either :D

Yeah, I don't remember many females from the series either. Not many males, either - there was that deer in a british soldier uniform who travelled with them in India.
Btw, if you like this style, there was a similary animated Sandokan cartoon, where the main characters were anthros - Sandokan was a tiger, for example.
