This is the same umbreon fursuit as before, though I got some less blurry pictures (again, thanks to my sister for photographing the left 4 images). The 'Rev.2' in the title denotes a modification I had made since the last images; specifically I attached the head to the body, to eliminate the troublesome neck seam which kept liking to rumple up.

You nailed it, I must say. It really does look good. It's your style. I'd love to make more suits to find out my consistency. Every suit maker has a "look" about their suits. I don't think you get a feel for your own work until you've made quite a few and you settle in with your preferred techniques. Then your style comes from that. I'm so curious to know what a series of suits I make would look like, but I have no money to build more, lol. Tis a shame, makes me sad.
Yep - it takes a number of fursuits before you begin settling in with methods and a style you like, though even then its mutable, especially in my case where I'm continually working on experimenting and developing new techniques (though I end up reinventing plenty of wheels; I don't use tutorials - I have a hard time learning like that, I prefer to simply figure out and design things on my own.)
Tutorials are gold for me. I get so flustered I don't really know how or what to do to fix something. I like to know what works for sure to lessen the stress, lol. But I agree, it might be several years of developing your preferred style. I know I want more realistic-looking masks, but not completely realistic. I want kind of a fantasy/realism to them. Stylized, I guess might be a good word. My goal is to match the essence and profile of my concept art. I want my masks to be the physical manifestation of my concepts and have the same jawline, curves, ear shape and what not to my concept art. I also know, it's not so easy to get that and it might not be necessary, but I want to try.
