I wanted to get a pic of this up for a while, partly as a way to reference it for use on Emberli, but also because of what it is and what it means to me. I did not spend a ton of effort doodling out the little picture I took with me to the shop when I went to get it, not near what I do when I'm trying to do actual flash, but enough to show and idea of what I wanted, and he did it. I got this as a gift to myself for my second year of sobriety. It was a bit belated, but that isn't the point. I fell in love with fireweed when i spent 5 weeks camping in Washington state with the Student Conservation Association back in 2000. They are beautiful, and it stuck with me that they are one of the first widespread plants to really thrive after a brush fire wipes out an understory. So this is a reminder to myself that I have come back after I nearly devastated myself. It will eventually involve some writing that wraps around my ankle and then comes down around the flower that says "there's a fine line between living a life and feeling alive"
