Sunlight in the Darkness
My god, a picked up this blank sketch from way back in December of 2011 and started coloring it in my signature metallic gold and silver. When it was originally sketched last year, I had intended on painting it in metallic gold and silver watercolors, but later decided it was too small, even for my delicate watercolor hand.
I don't think there is a single media I do out there worse suited for the internet then this. Its entirely dependent on reflected light to shine, so when a scanner scans it, everything is very dull and I have to heavily photo edit it to get even to this rather crummy state. Maybe if I spent time getting rid of the specs on the black paper it would help.
... but that would probably take longer then it took me to color it in 45 minutes.
This reminded me that this "monochromatic" style is unconditionally my fastest media over graphite, Inktense, and even Adobe Illustrator CS5 which are my other supposed speed medias.
Not sure I will frame this as it needs to be for the showing its for. Glass ruins the metallic effect too. Though I guess technically I could just remove the glass from the frame and switch to a double mat.
Prismacolor Verithin:
~Metallic Gold
~Metallic Silver
~Black (for the eyes)
