I live in a desert yet we have toads. WTF? 10 years ago seeing a toad would have been mind boggling and now I see them every few weeks. We so need to cut down on the golf ponds.

Looks to be a Colorado River toad. When my grandparents would take care of some remote property and a ranchhouse out north of Tucson, you'd see these guys all over the pool cover on summer nights. I have no idea where they came from but their numbers dropped off a lot after the CAP canal was put in a few miles west of the property.
