GUYS.
I got a couple new plants today. I bought my first ever marimo ball, and all that dwarf hairgrass is new too. Planting it was like trying to bury a balloon underwater. >:[
Normally I would like moss to grow all over rocks and stuff, but that big rock on the left is so nice and craggy, I often pull the moss off of it. It's a little overdue for a prune.

Ah! I didn't see the rasboras. That makes sense.
I wanted to get shrimp for my 75 gallon tank but I have zebra and yoyo loaches.
I have seen people keep them together but I'm afraid that my loaches will eat them.
I "might" buy another tank just for shrimp but that will be for 3rd tank.

Do it! You can't have too many tanks, haha. Besides the shrimp tank and nursery tank, I've got a 20G planted with serpae tetra and kuhli loaches, a 29G planted with blue gourami and harlequin rasboras, a 56G mbuna cichlid tank, and a 20G long saltwater tank (currently fishless from an ich outbreak late last spring. I decided it would be easier to leave it without fish over summer while traveling. Corals are doing their thing). I still think about more tanks! I have a 40G breeder stored empty in the basement that I picked up during one of Petco's $1/gallon sale ages ago, haven't done anything with it so far. It's kind of tentatively planned to have smaller rock-dwelling tanganyikans at some point, whenever I feel like spending the money on all the setup stuff. I might wait until I take one of the current tanks down, just so that I don't feel too ridiculous. I don't see deconstruction of any of the current tanks in the foreseeable future though, so it'll probably be awhile.
ooh congrats on your marimo! I have three right now, and I began with one big one :)
They grow really slow but don't make the mistake of helping the budding process like I did. My big one started splitting short after I got it and I got really impatient and helped it, but then for a long time I had two funny shaped balls.
Anyway they're really wonderful little colonies.

I forgot you had marimos! Didn't you forget to roll it around and it got a flat spot on the bottom? :P Great that you have three now! They started carrying prepackaged marimo balls at the Petsmart here (in little cups of water like bettas), so I thought, hey! I don't even have to get an employee to assist me! I can go through and pick whichever I want.
They had a few that weren't so round (but were a little bigger than the one I got). I went for shape over size.
