Sure, but that's not the set up of the joke persay. The idea is that it's funny how we all customize our OC's without any real thought for how the species might actually evolve or something. Hell, I have a Jackal who has COMPLETELY TEAL quils- they'd more likely be darker blue and fade into black as they tip or something.
