Okay, so this is one of the bigger pieces I was working on over the summer break, just managed my finishing touches on it tonight. This piece is for full symphony (with a lot of piano and some harp and a lot of misc. percussion, yet no mallets for once) and it is inspired by Reepicheep's duel on the Dawn Treader. I really didn't like the way David Arnold handled this section musically, so I redid it, at least thematically speaking.
I am super, incredibly happy with the way this one came out, and I hope you all like it too! Please leave comments and concerns (like about how the melody pretty much dissappears at the end :P But I think the brass and percussion would approve!).

Whimsical! May I ask what sequencer or equipment you use to produce your works? I've just listened to a few of them, and I really like 'em! :D
Anyway, as a former brass player, and also an aspiring composer, I really do like what you've done with the brass here, especially. The crescendo at about 40 seconds in briefly reminded me of The Adventures of Batman and Robin, a game for the SNES, for some reason; I think maybe the BGM in one of the Joker's levels might have used a similar phrase. :O

This song came off of Finale 2011, with one "garritan" solo viola. I usually use that or on my laptop I have a 'lower' version, Finale Print Music, which gives you 24 staves to work with and pretty much any instrument one might need. I sometimes venture into Sibelius territory because Finale glitches quite a bit, but Finale is by far the best sounding software of its type (before expensive plugins).
I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for the comment!
