Is that light falloff part of the image, or was that a post effect? I like the shot, some closer up shots would be nice I think, the only killer to the image is the lack of an actual background, which from the looks of it you could not do much about, still say i like it though.

The light falloff on the corners are intentional. Added with photoshop (vignetting), some say that it is a lens problem (yeah some bad-quality lens do vignetting in real life) but in some cases it just help to put the subject in the first plane. ;)

The lack of background is something that I really can't control. The house was in the top of the mountain, so no mountain to make a background hehehehehe

Yeah, I had a 28mm lens that had terrible vignetting with ANY skylight filter on it, it drove me to lock it away for all eternity, no more of that one, but the softness on the edges look pretty good. Best bet, do a sky shot, up in the mountains you can pull in a LOT of color, would be an interesting contrast with the old building if you went by there often.

i have always had this love for abandoned houses. its probably because I want to fix up an old farmhouse someday.
