No internet the past couple of weeks due to a storm and me not paying attention to things.. and I've been a lazy bum playing that new funky pokemon game and watching tv.
But anywho. Really felt like drawing yesterday while going through files I needed to get stuff done with vistaprint and well.. couldn do it at the time, but when I got home I actually sat my butt down and did something.. sorta.
Well, I coloured this.
Original sketch is uh.. 2-3years old at least? A friend wanted me to draw a Cheshire Cat for him and I sketched up this and an anthro one.. I still really liked this pose as I was going through old stuff to poke at and well.. Colour! And I wanted to go spaz with the colours and try a more painterly attempt instead of the usual cel-shaded I've been doing for ponies. SO MANY FRIGGIN PONIES.. *cough*
Anywho, this guy was really fun to do.. Making as much contrast as possible and splashing colour everywhere with roughlines and.. yeah. I don't think his eyes are quite as blue as they could be.. but meh.
Oh, what also helped me pick to do this was looking at a FB group I've not actually taken part in that I was added to that encourages drawing and such and this week's theme is time.. and there was a pic of the White Rabbit from Alive in Wonderland, so I figured I'd add the White Rabbit's stopwatch.
Worst part of the image!
Spending FORTY-FIVE PLUS minutes messing with SIMPLE backgrounds.. like.. Okay, more like an HOUR. Trying NOT to get something overly complicated or distracting.. but also not too boring and.. argh.. SO MUCH ARGH. This'll just do.
Anyway. I love how this turned out, even if there's anatomy issues with his legs.. but hey, Cheshire Cat, he can bend/stretch however he wants.. And colours. Eeee.. Love on colours~
Totally gonna make this a print once I adjust sizes and what not.
Anywho, hope people like ze happy kitty, cause I do!
