I freaking love this character. Impossible to pinpoint all the tiny aspects that make it just perfect for me- eye expression, nose angle and shape, etc etc. You've just happened upon an odd sort of ideal.

(why does it freak me out seeing the bottom surface of the bust?)

Well he is pretty much my ideal as well. All those subtle features like nose angle etc.. They were all very deliberate and are my ideal. I would say I have 2 or 3 variations on this ideal that can look different that I can't decide on which one is my favorite but this is definitely the one I seem to keep drawing and dwell on. I'm glad someone else other than me can appreciate him. :)

I think it's the specific shape of the eyes and nose, which are very soulful and I guess.. "simple" in a good way. Then combine that with the fluffy beard, mustache, and eyebrows which could look menacing with a harsher expression or more "hard" features, but on him it just looks strong yet kind.

Or maybe I'm talkin' out my ass. Ha
