This is a short freewrite I made some time ago, originally intended to be the prologue or something for a story idea that has not gone anywhere since. It is a little bit depressing, but I did not really want to edit anything when I read through it, so I figured it was worthy of posting. I claim to be a writer but barely post any, so... here ya go.

In case anyone has trouble catching on (because this is kind of important), the canine people in this world are referred to as "ashimalik" as a whole and come in a few varieties, including a couple mentioned here. Aayar's tribe predominantly looks like arctic foxes.

Also, does anybody actually classify their story theme as "Doodle"? XP
