Part of the Tesla Coil demonstration involved the good Doctor lighting up a fluorescent tube, then inviting an audience member to take his hand. Having been on the receiving end of electro-muscular disruption devices that pump out 50,000 volts (half that of the coil), I naturally demurred.

The Doctor woulds tart by clasping the hand, then slowly withdraw to just a fingertip, enabling sparks to leap across the gap.

Truly an energetic experience.
