A story written with
thronezwei and Nitrinoxus. This is set in the Dreaming setting and explores what could happen if a fae is allowed to run rampant on Earth. I wrote Sam/Spark the toon fox, Zwei wrote Ian the jackal sheriff, and Nox wrote Zane the chimeric golem. We had a lot of fun with this, and I hope you all enjoy reading it!
I got to write the Artist's dialogue, and I had a fair deal of fun with it, too. I imagine him sounding like Sheogorath. CHEESE!

The Artist's power set. That's a prankster's dream right there. The Artist is _so_ close to being someone that Caleb could fall in love with; The Artist is clearly very clever, and his tricks have a wonderful sense of style. It's just the sort of thing that Caleb dearly wishes he could be. If it weren't for the fact that the shapeshifting is apparently permanent, Caleb might just bring himself to look past the fact that The Artist is wielding his powers like an asshole. In fact, I can really easily see Caleb being misled into liking The Artist, if circumstances were such that Caleb didn't see the true picture.
Good to know. I'll keep that factor in mind. Also, the reason the trio's changes were permanent was because the Artist didn't so much change as bring out an exaggerated version of their inner selves (hence the 'turning your skin inside out' comment near the end of the ch. 3). Things like the 'decorative' changes the Artist put on people through the story would reverse.
