Me and
are pretty into the avatar series, so we made some ost republic-city characters.
Grannon has Earth Nation family history, but his family developed and fine-tuned methods of agriculture and mining using their bending, rather than the popularized corps and police systems more common throughout the area. Through this, he has developed a very profound sensitivity to different types of rock, and likes to harvest crystals and minerals whenever possible. He is generally very positive and hopeful that he may some day use his practical knowledge to lead the world to a better place and allow benders to enhance the world rather than war upon it.
Dai was thought to be a non-bender for most of his life, much to the disappointment of his aristocratic firebending family. Despite his apparent lack of ability, his disappointed father trained him rigorously in fire-bending techniques to coax any small bending affinity out of his body. He is conditioned to be very serious and bookish, constantly caught with his nose in a book. He eventually discovered, however, that his mother's side of the family was shrouded in some sort of enigmatic lapse in knowledge that no one would speak of, particularly his grandmother. In a bout of frustration, Dai discovered that he was actually a waterbender, his genes inherited from a family affair with 'dirty water tribe people'. He faced an existential crisis and fled form his family, and now struggles with Grannon to make a living for himself, and try to break from his conditioned fire-bending techniques to learn more about his hidden culture and identity. He is often sarcastic and dry, but Grannon's positive, light hearted attitude breaks his shell down a bit. He is more well trained in weapons than bending, and his aggressive movements form years of fruitless firebending training make him more adept at bending ice than any other phase of water.
Ive thougt too much about these guys @_@
