This is my second attempt at writing music, after Above The Clouds (the other song in my gallery); the whole thing is based on a chord jump I heard ages ago in a video game (Breath of Fire 3, exploring the caves in Mt. Glaus). C to F# is an unusual progression, which is probably why it interested me enough to remember it such a long time later.

As it went on, it gained a certain sinister quality to it, and made me think of the feeling of the final level in a game, when you're trying to get to the boss. You're deep in the machine; oppressive darkness on all sides; attacks coming at you left and right... and thus the name came to reflect this. (Sorry, vore fans.) The final note of the descant never resolves; can one ever truly defeat this menace?

Some of the sound levels seem kinda screwy; my apologies for this. I hope you enjoy it anyway.
