ATTENTION: big file. 1.73 mb.
yet another one of the Machines.
Re-Call, once a Valkyre* named Wynd, of a winged tribe, fighter, sorceress and Fyre's
beloved.
like all of the Machines (some more than others), she's bereft of her
former life's memory.
as her Machine-incarnation, she takes command of the remaining Machines
after U-Net.1 is destroyed and EMP-T.1 went insane.
a short time later she forms an uneasy alliance with Fyre and his companions.
around the end of the story both Re-Call and Fyre get fatally wounded while
fighting Re (Re is a deity. no relations to Re-Call). before she dies, she uses her remaining regenerative abilities
to merge parts of her body with Fyre, thus healing him.
she's also restoring Fyre's already damaged bodyparts, including his wings.
with nifty Machine-steel.
maybe she recognized him as her long thought lost lover before she died,
who knows? i do.
though her body mimics a lot of her former abilities, technology could replace
those to a certain degree only.
her wings were replaced by a jet-pack. no magical powers are left with the
exception of an electromagnetic impulse that works like hypnosis and can
temporarily immobilize opponents.
her 'mouth' consists of five sharp blades which can open up to reveal
electrically loaded tentacles that took the place of her ability to 'spit'
lightning bolts. like all machines she has super'human' strenght.
her physically enhanced claws and diamond-tail are now the primary weapons
she uses in the comic-story that is Stargazers.

Valkyres was the name of all lifeforms that were born on the planet Azgart.
this also included 'alien' offsprings which were born on this planet. it also included plants and mechanical life.
like Hoed, who, from his origin, would be considered Jotun, but was born on Azgart
during the last of the Jotun/Valkyre wars. he therefore is a Valkyre.
though there was no clear racial structure and crossbreeds were quite common,
most Valkyres joined or stayed in tribes they were born in or where the majority
represented their appearances and abilities. not in spite of other lifeforms but
because of logic and necessity.
a feline-born for example wouldn't normally be of much help in a mainly arachnid tribe.
despite these facts the Valkyres had a rather large communal spirit.
since i thought of this concept quite some time before i learned about the term 'furry', i think,
i should make something clear. Valkyres (though by appearance, and only by that, some kinda are) are NOT Furries.

ps:
there was a .doc file about the whole Stargazers concept on my page in both german and english.
since the english one was a cesspool of twisted engrish grammar back then, i'll try and make a more
adequate translation of this, which will still be not as detailed - or grammatically correct - as
the home-grown original, yet hopefully good enough to enlighten the whole saga a little better than
before.

ah, remember those chars weren't always like that. it started with artificial limbs to replace the failing/ missing biological bodyparts and it went from there.
so yeah it's patchwork of course. very much so intended to look like that.
i also wanted each Machine to resemble certain attributes of their former bodies.
but most importantly: not very functional, dude? it's fantasy lol.
this unit: functionality 100%.

ah i understand now.
well it may look like she has two knees but the upper one's actually meant to be a buffer. the character Re-Call originates from - Wynd - was, as the name should imply, of a less "earthbound" species.
so i guess she's not as big a treat on the ground.
good point actually; although she was meant to be a rather big lady.
it's MAGIG STEEL! lol

That's a wargame, actually, and it's too easy - during few last editions it authors cut down a lot of options for te armies..:( But he art is always good, check it: http://uk.games-workshop.com/necrons/artwork/
