Remember the Junk Cats? Same things. Except with dogs. And unlike the cats, every one of these cards takes after a dog I knew/know. With the Junk Cats... I believe three of the cards in that series had anything to do with any cat I actually knew. XD I did these for a charity event I'll be attending... today. ... It's funny how late at night when I'm trying to get work done by the next day, I often start listening to gospel music. XD Oh my... Also, this charity event is one of the reasons I've been so busy lately. ^^;;;; Soo, it'll be over tomorrow and I'll be showing progress on my commissions after that.
1. Junkyard Dog – Where I used to indoor Rock Climb, there was this junkyard dog that lived in the lot next door and you could see him from the open door at the gym. He was always darting in and out of the debris, chasing birds or whatever else was unfortunate enough to wander into his yard. I remember him being a skinny, shy dog and even years after that gym closed down and I stopped going, I still remember him.
2. Dumpster Diver – A dog my best friend growing up had. He was an incurable dumpster diver and no matter how they tried, they never broke him of the habit except my making him a mostly outdoor dog. They did this until he was too old to bother with the garbage but even though he couldn’t jump up to get it or knock it over anymore, I remember him sniffing around it.
3. Pampered - My grandma’s dogs are the most pampered, and at the same time most neglected dogs I’d ever met. My family inherited them after my grandma died and moving them out of her house and yard was a real shock to them because they had never left the property before!
4. Throw the Ball! – My dog, Axel. His idea of heaven is a room stacked to the ceiling with squeaking tennis balls.
5. Will You Love Me Tomorrow? – A card representing a dog another of my friends had while I was growing up. It was a rather hyperactive dog, but very friendly. It had grown up rough-housing with her and all her friends (myself included.) I met up with my friend, years later, and asked her how the dog was doing. She explained to me that they had put the dog down because it dug up some of her mother’s flowerbeds.
6. The Other Side Of The Fence – Growing up, we had three dogs of our own. From one side of the fence they loved kids and wanted nothing more to play or to lick you to death. Although they were friendly, once they were in their own yard, they would bark and snarl and growl at anyone who tried to get near our yard and they scared quite a lot of people. I remember one of my friends trying to convince her mother that the three dogs were friendly but her mother still refused to enter our house. My mom explained it by telling me that “Some dogs are just different on the other side of the fence.”

We just had to give up our puppy, because she grew bigger and faster than expected, and she exceeded the weight limit for our apartment. Landlord gave us only a few days...so, we had to take her to the Humane Society. I felt shitty about that, felt irresponsible...but man, I could have done so much worse. I mean, do they shoot kids who get into their yard and mess up the flowers? o.O
Reading that made me a little sad.
Especially the one that got put down due to digging up flower beds. Reminds me of a news article I read about a woman wanting to have a full litter of pure bred huskies put down because they were 'making noise'.
Some people just shouldn't own animals. :/ Luckily the vet clinic convinced her to just hand them over to them.

Boo for them putting flower-doggy down. But:
Your dog Axel is funny! I once co-owned 20 dogs and only 1 of them (my 100% own dog) was ball-crazy - the others were always the complete opposite and ignored them.
There must be a "ball-gene." I am sure scientists will find it one day.
