This really is the back side of my wood carving tool box that I made from leftover wood from other projects . I believe the celtic knotwork pattern is from the Book of Kells . The pattern is a combination of regular chip carving and relief carving . The back panel is free floating bass wood and the sides are pine with hand cut knife edge dovetails . I think I used acrylic paints on the animals . The whole thing was stained walnut so all the different kinds of woods would match / look better .
