Darkness. That's all I see at first. Not even a hint of light, it scares me. I start walking, but before I can even go three paces, I am blinded as light appears where the Darkness was and see... see...
I feel a pain coming from the back of my head as I sit up and see a certain someone holding a textbook in his hand with the spine pointing toward my skull. "Did you enjoy your nap Mr. Erodin?" Asks Mr. Goa, my teacher in Math. "Uh... I wasn't sleeping?" I say with a smile and a nervous chuckle. "Don't even try that on me, Derek was the one who brought me over here." The old horse said with a shake of his head. "... Note to self, kick some Rabbit ass." I mutter to myself. "What was that?" Says an all to familiar voice not far off in the rows, and I turn to see my floppy-eared, white-furred, and straight A student best friend, Derek Lee. "Nothing!" I say instantly and sit up, most of the class snickering about what just happened.
Before Mr. Goa can continue on about Math the bell, thankfully, rang and I was out of that room faster than you can say "Goodbye." I sighed in relief as I started getting my bag from my locker, feeling as if I was forgetting something important. "Hm... Well if I forgot it it mustn't have been that important in the first place." I say shrugging. " Hey Xander!" Came a loud booming voice, and finally I remembered what it was that I forgot. "Hi Joe. I got your English homework ready." I say to him as I pull out his essay and give it to him. Standing just over 8 feet, Joe was a hulk! Though being a Black Bear, I guess I shouldn't really be surprised. "Thanks man! I would be dead if Ms. Livingston found out!" He said taking it happily. "Anytime Big guy, just next time, tell me before I have mine prepared to write too, alright?" I ask him with a sigh and smile.
"Besides, the bell's about to ring, shouldn't we be heading over there now?" I ask grinning as I take my bag and start running up the stairs to the second floor to get to our English room. When I open the doors the same familiar room fills my gaze. Green tile floor, yellow walls of a darker shade, and windows showing the science building not far off. I go and take my seat in the front of my row near the door.
"Three... Two... One." I then look at the door as Joe bursts in seconds befre the bell. "Always cutting things close, aren't we." I say chuckling and help him up. "Oof! You need to cut down on all the food. You may be a football star AND a bear, but still." I say teasingly and take my seat again with Joe right behind me. Joe just gave me a look at that and started to head over to his seat, but as he was passing me, I felt a crushing weight on my foot. "AH!" I jumped up and saw he had stepped on me, my paw aching from it. "... You do realize, of course, this means war." I said as I pick up a chair.
Joe just smiles and picks up a desk, chair and all, and is ready to throw it when I throw mine. "Bring it Peewee!!" He says happily, having fun all ready, then, before either of us can do anything, our English teacher walks in. "And just WHAT do you think you are both doing with school property and a student like that?" She asks, pointing to the chair that Joe is holding, showing a slightly frightened, but grinning Snow Leopard as he waves at her. "H-Hello Mrs. Hust." He says nervously. "Vergil, were you a part of this?" She asks in surprise and I can't help but reply. "Yep!! It was his idea in the first place." I say grinning, but regretted it the instant it left my mouth.
"Well in that case, all three of you will have a nice time in detention with me today." She says and writes us up, then begins class. As the class drags on more and more, I find Joe talking to Vergil about something, but I don't get a chance to ask what they are talking about as the bell rings for Gym class, and I groan since I know what will be waiting there for me. "Please at least have one of them be sick. If I am luck, both will be." I say to myself as I head off into the Gym and look around, the high ceiling with glass for natural light as well as lightbulbs, a smooth polished wooden floor for basketball and indoor track practices while it was raining, and not to meantion the leaches on both sides of the Gym.
I look around, dreading what I might find, but relax when I see one of my two tormentors is not here today, bt when I turn around, there right in front of me is none other than the Great White asshole himself, Brad Hudson. "Hey there, if it isn't my favorite plaything. today is my favorite day, because we get to play an oldschool favorite. Dodgeeball." He says with a big, dark, toothy smile. "And you are the other teams captain. So go ahead and pick your players." He says and backs up, letting me have room to breath again. "Ok, geeze. I pick, first off, Derek." I say grinning as he comes up shrugging. "Well, let's show them what we've got, right?" He says smiling and stands next to me.
"Next up I choose Vergil, get over here you little kitten." I say grinning and he makes his way over, looking nervous. "O-Ok. L-Let's show them." He says, trying to talk tough. "And finally, since you have everyone else, Joe, get your butt over here." I say grinning as he comes over, cracking his knuckles and grinning at Brad. "You, are mine Sharky." He says smiling. "Oh? Do I not get picked then?" Says a quiet, but still heard by everyone, voice from the bleachers. I turn to see who it is, and am surprised to see it's the Black Cat that everyone stays away from, Chris Redfield walking towards me. "It is all right. I did not want to play anyway." He says stiffly and starts heading out of the Gym.
I sigh and feel bad for not even thinking about him, but snap out of it when a ball whizzes passed my head, barely missing it. "... No one said go asshole." I say and throw one, hitting a Badger next to Brad and he sinks to the floor. "Fine then. Go." He says and everyone starts launching their ammo at us, and, somehow, only I got out. "How that worked I will never know." I say and go to sit at the bench, but get hit in the back of the head hard and I smash right into the bleachers. "Hey! He was out you bastard! Why did you do that?!" Yells Derek as he runs at Brad. "Derek! Wait!" Yell Vergil and grabs his arm, to which Derek swings around and slugs him in the side of the head.
"Enough!" Yells our Gym coach, a Bull that's late into his forties. "Lee! That an afternoon detention with Mrs. Hurst for you!" He says, having only seen what derek did, and not Brad. "Derek: Yes sir." He says in a low tone, but keeps a glare glued onto Brads face, not edging back until he's grabbed by Joe and Joe helps me up and steadies me. "Thanks buddy." He says and check my nose. Luckily, it wasn't bleeding much and stopped soon, whereafter, the game began again and all hell broke loose.
After Gym, it was time for most of the students and teachers to go home for the day, but as luck would have it, the four of us had to spend part of our afternoon in detention. When we sat down, Mrs. Hust stood up and faced us. " I want you all to write an essay on what you learned about not destroying school property, and YOU, Mr. Lee, to write one over not punching your fellow students for no real reason." She says and leaves. "So... I'm planning something for tonight if any of you want to come. Derek and Vergil have already agreed, but I just wanted to remind them, just so you know Xander." He says grinning. "I'll have to think about it." I say and start writing my essay, getting it done much faster than the others, so I decide to wait around for any of the others to finish, but oddly enough, it was Joe who finished after me, so we left together and he looked right at me once we were outside, awaiting my answer. "Well?" I paused, unsure of my answer, then look right at him and gave him my answer without hesitation.
