That is what the main character basically is.
An allegory to two pieces of literature:
Alice in Wonderland
and the Color Purple...by ALICE Walker.
I created this little girl as the main character because sadly there are not enough Black children as protagonist in Kid's stories. This is my way of encouraging "Black is Beautiful".
She becomes acquainted with Louie, the White Lion, when she first arrives in his world from a magical book.
Alice is 12 years old and loves to read books.....obviously. LOL

This is sadly true because apparently, still, today you still get some serious controversy with Hollywood and its fans when it comes to various black actors. I mean, look at all the drama that started when The Hunger Games came out and literally people were flipping tables because some of the main characters were black and people were mocking about how the black girl died. Disregard the fact that the author clearly stated in the book of their skin tone, people still went all pissy over it.
Still, watch Beasts of Southern Wild. It didn't get much attention, but it's mainly about a little girl from Louisiana trying to save her father and her home in a forgotten bayou that has been pretty much cut off from the rest of the world. Fantastic, artistically beautiful, and the story is damned wonderful.
