Fursuit Tutorial: Finishing Edges and Cuffs with Bias Tape
New Video Tutorial! Watch it here:

This is a demonstration of a nice finishing technique. Using bias tape on necks, footpaw or handpaw cuffs really makes a nice professional finish. Its also comfortable and looks nice!
Bias tape can be purchased at just about every fabric store, and it comes in single fold or double fold type (and probably various others for varying purposes). But for the sake of this tutorial I am using a narrow, single fold Bias Tape to finish off the cuff of some footpaws for a project I've been working on!
As with my other recent video tutorial, this technique is demonstrated with a sewing machine. Additionally I DO have a bias tape foot for my machine (seen here) but it does not work with faux fur, so "traditional" methods are used.

Nice machine. For most sewing machines I would recommend a lite tear away stabilizer or pattern tissue between the fur and feed dogs to prevent fur entering the machine and jamming, then remove it prior to folding over and sewing the other side of the bias. The pattern tissue works best for me and is cheaper as I can use the left over pattern paper after a project. Great tutorial, thanks for posting.
Unfortunately I can't tell you the cost, it was a graduation gift 10 years ago! But I can tell you the type of machine! It is a Pfaff Lifestyle 2022, it is an amazingly awesome machine! I love Pfaff! They are a higher end machine, so expect to pay a couple hundred dollars for it.
