I thought it would be amusing to show that "furry art" or so called anthro is not a modern artistic style or fashion. Especially in Middle Europe, it was very famous for educational or simply diverting literature to show anthromorphic animals. This is an illustration of the German novel "When the animals wanted to become soldiers" of 1890.

This is what got me into using anthro animals in artwork was political satirical cartoons of 18th into the 19th century as well as classic fairy tale illustrations.
There is something more charming about it to me. I guess because it has more hidden and not so hidden (often dated offensive) symbolism.
I quite like this one, especially the dog enjoying his smoke. XD
