yeah good question where i get my inspiration.... i listen to lots of music.
i wrote this song for a school project when i was 18 years old but i never really worked it out. most of the parts where done by improvisation (like the strings in the halftime part). so i do most instruments by improvising, but i always have problems with the drums, so i listened very much to drums of any band i could find to learn ^^"

that's why i'm very slow at writing new songs ^^"

Well, I don't want to admit that I first used the search function for vanity reasons to see if my name was mentioned anywhere, but still, it led me to this :) I somehow missed this when you posted it - nevertheless, it sounds great! The new string-led part is interesting, too, and they blend well with the guitars at the end.

I'm also very impressed at the mention of Iron Savior in the comment above - far too few people have heard of them :)
