Growing up, The king, his brothers and Thysis were never really taught their roles. Their parents were are too occupied with their own statuses to really teach them that they shouldn't be friends, let alone attempt to seperate them. So now that they're adults in their respective roles, neither the King nor Thysis can really see the other as 'above' or 'beneathe' only as "Friend"
