This is commission #2 from  juano -- my Camel character, Shafiq.

Born to rather rebellious parents in their newly settled-upon home of Oklahoma, Shafiq was raised in a fairly relaxed Muslim household amid a sea of strict Bible-thumpers. Despite the incessant xenophobia by virtue of his species and religion, he nonetheless proved himself a model student and citizen.

During the year, he teaches the latest crop of fourth graders; during the summer, he works at a camp for the disadvantaged and those with special needs.

...and, no...he doesn't smoke.
