Here's a song about a man with two heads. We do not actually know this man, but we wrote a song for him anyway. Enjoy the frantic spleandor that is this song.
This seriously came out of nowhere one day while I was sitting around between shows over the summer. The line "Two headed man bought himself a necktie" showed up in my mind.
Lyrics:
One pair of hands, one set of shoulders
a dandy deuce of matching thumbs
he sports a ten pack of perfect fingers
a shiny nail on every one
a forking spine, cleft at the neck
should that be plural? well I see
a set of chins and matching noses
two sets of eyes look back at me
Everywhere he goes you hear dishes crash
and bumpers smashing, people gasping,
what the hey is it just me or is that a
Chorus:
Woah, two headed man, living with himself and him
usin’ double the shampoo
needs four goggles at the pool
internet says it’s a scam, two headed man
Two headed man bought himself a neck tie
went down to the city to find a job
The cafe’s and the restaurants wouldn’t have him
Doors were locked before he could turn the knob
he wandered the busy streets for hours
until somebody pulled up in a van
they said hey man, we need a roadie
and you look like a guy who could use a hand
Then he spent a year, tuning things and hauling gear
until someone stopped to hear him sing
bass and tenor at the same time because he’s a
Chorus II:
Woah, two headed man, singing background vocals with the band
wish he had another hand
always using two mic stands
can’t get more attention than two headed man
Does he have two hearts, does he have two souls
can he control both brains, does he have two life goals
and if you dated one head, would the other miss you
if one had a cold sore, could the other kiss
or would that be cheating, would the love be fleeting
could you stay and know you’ll make it through being
two for one and one with two?
Woah, two headed man, living with himself and him
Woah, two headed man, on the evening news again
Woah, two headed man, a miracle where he stands
hard to sneak up on a guy
who is a literal four eyes
can you tell that I’m a fan
got his faces on a stamp
he’s a big star in Japan
Two headed man

I want to hate it, can love it
Yet it infects, I destest and
Tap my feet yet, and hum a
Bar, I despise it still, and
It gets to me, and I laugh
Heartily enjoyed, Drearily
decried it is a mess to say
What I have to say of this
Spiraling song, this piece
Of weirdness, oh what
is at all wrong with me
I wish that I could know.
This song is heavily a Weird Al feeling
And always great to hear how many sounds
You're already capable of producing
It's hard to think of what all you'll
Be capable of in say a decade from now
(That is if mankind survives that long!)

HAHA you wrote me a poem :D how kind of you.
I hope you don't hate it TOO Much hehehe
I tried to ballance weirdness of lyrics with what I see as a possible reality that could transpire in the event of an actual two headed dude
Hopefully we don't just get boring over the years >.<

This one was specifically written around the idea of throwing tons of chords out in quick succession and still making it sound consonant and logical.
Lots of secondary relations, borrowed chords, stuff that plain comes out of nowhere (intro in C minor, song in D Major)
Now I need to keep working on recording technique. It's improving, but slowly.
I actually went down your equipment list on your bandcamp page and it steered me towards my SM7B which I enjoy.
Now I need a good condenser (looking at a Blue) and I'll be... well one is never "done" getting gear, but it'll be an improvement.
Now just to find a spare few hundred dollars <.<
Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment ^^

I'd steer away from Blue for condensors, honestly. You can get much better for the money. Check out Kel Audio (www.kelaudio.com) if you want a decent, cheap condensor for your acoustic guitar. I'd recommend the HM-3C.
SM7b rawks. I've never found anything better for vocals, and I've tried over two dozen mics.

Well hell.
It's hard to wade through all of the internet opinion. I mean, you can find two opposite reviews for the same product, from supposedly equally credible sources.
I'll take a look at those. I don't have the budget or resources to try much out, so I'm always happy when I buy a good thing the first time around ^^

again, wow.
I wanna buy your music.
You've got a great vibe. Nice harmonies on the chorus. You're also a much better engineer than when we last spoke. Are you using DI for bass?
The bridge is nice, a little Barenaked Ladies, and a Doctor Who reference.
Right now I'm drunk, and bordering between friend and fanboy.

This one I am very happy with. I like whenever I sound Barenaked Ladies as well ^^
OOH what is the who reference? I still don't watch that show haha.
GO BUY IT. It's on my website. You can follow links to buy the CDs, or just get downloads in whatever audio format you want.
You aren't a fanboy until you try and get with me.

It's great. The piano makes me think of Meatloaf which is what I was thinking earlier, it just needs some grooving distorted guitar. I love the part near the end with the reverse snares too. THAT PART reminds me of Scorpions a bit (only because Rock You Like a Hurricane though)
Yeah, it's Coulton-y with Tally Hall humor, to me. I really think you'd enjoy Tally Hall, they're from Michigan and they do a lot of vocal harmony stuff. This is one of my favorite by them, hope you enjoy it. :J http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8sUC-dsW8A
