Alphonse is an old boy... or girl... I've actually never had him officially sexed. I've never wanted to breed him so I really didn't need to know the gender.
He is my oldest pet. I've had him since I was 6 and a half years old. He was at least 2 to 3 years old when I got him. I am 20 now. He is at least 15 or 17 years old at this time.
He is my big lumpy baby <3
Loves to cuddle and is a great eater. He has a lot of scars from when he was with a previous owner who fed him live rats. I had to get him force fed when he wouldn't eat for two months when I first got him.

They can sink their teeth in and then usually they curl around the spot they bit. I have a few scars from my days of breeding these guys where the females were usually very aggressive, and had to be handled with a hook pole. Never been bit by any of the males though, who we held and played with more as they didnt have eggs to protect.
Either way, He/She looks very beautiful and obviously well kept after. Very lovely snake there ^.^

Yikes. o.o;;;
I've always been interested in taking care of one but as with any common pet (feline or canine as I was raised around the two) I've always had second thoughts about since I do have a slight fear (even the small ones) of them and I don't deal well with death if it some how comes to that. But thank you bunches for the info, do you mind if I have more inquiries if I noted you later about them? :D

Well, as SnagheiliSniper said, the best thing to do is have a proper sized cage, keep the humidity up, and do tons of research. I dealt with a lot of breeder snakes, and not so much pet snakes, which could be a little on the under socialized side. But the ball python is an excellent pet snake so long as you dont go straight for the huge ones as your first.. I tend to find that people get the huge ones (huge as in they eat 2 rabbits, not mice and rats) not knowing what they are getting into, run into trouble and either return it or setting it free as a result of not knowing how to properly handle/care for the big guys.
Unfortunately a lot of snakes aren't small. Nothing small about python or boa species either. The smaller they are the harder they can be to take care of because they usually have specific needs in captivity.
They can be small when they are babies, but they grow very fast. A foot long baby will be five+ feet in a few years and a lot of people don't realize how big they get and either abandon them, have to give them up, or set them loose in the wild. [which is terrible for the ecosystem and incredibly cruel and inhumane to the animal]
And when you get a snake species, be ready to take care of that animal for 10+ years because that's the normal lifespan. Ball Pythons can live upwards of 40 years. They take dedication and aren't impulse buy pets. It's also very hard to go on vacations unless you have someone who is trained in snake care.
Snakes take long-term commitment.
If you want something small, I'd suggest a gecko or lizard species. Still need tons of research and even harder to go away for a week without someone coming in to care for them. Lizards generally take more feeding and maintenance than snakes.

Baww he's so beautiful and such a fatty
I'm glad you have him though, that poor baby and those scars probably still sensitive in that area I'd imagine.
How big is he? Me and my fiancee
shadowkira555 have 3 of our own
(1 of them is our roommates) and they are maybe under a year old
(looks like topping 2 feet in length for all three already)

He's my snugglemuffin. Only been bitten once and it was my fault for dangling a mouse 8I I was digging teeth out of my wrist for a week.
Yeah, he's still kind of skittish when I touch the big one on his tail or near his head. But after an hour of handling he'll let you touch him just about anywhere. He's also very ticklish on his belly, it's so cute. He'll sit with me for HOURS while I browse the internet.
He's about 4 1/2 long, maybe a little longer. He's just kind of fat xD
Dawwwwwwww. Snakies <3 You might get lucky and they'll get to six feet. I've never seen one longer than 6ft xD
