aw shucks. and adding some plastic "hoseshoe" doesn't impriove walking, either, I guess.
I know someone who used shoes as a base, added padding, and hooves made out of modified plastic tubings. they are connected elastically, and thus click without damaging anything, or getting in the way of walking.
then again they are made for LARP. :)
say, out of curiousity, do you have a price estimate for a pair of multi-toed hoof boots?

sounds reasonable.
meanwhile I'm curious if somethign like these hoof-paws would be possible to build. (I can't afford anythign right now, mind you, just curious and a little bit planning)
