Lily
female gryphon - ring-billed gull x domestic cat (american shorthair/siamese mix)

Lily is an energetic, friendly, and loquacious gryphon. Legend has it that she once actually shut up for five minutes. Most dismiss this as myth. Her friends consider her quite fun in small doses but she tends to eventually wear on just about anyone's nerves.

Lily also has a tendency to blurt out whatever she's thinking and this often gets her into trouble in social situations. Although she means well and tries to be a good friend, she usually ends up accidentally revealing any secrets she's been told at very inopportune times. This has been a barrier to her forming close bonds with others and has, underneath her friendly exterior, left her somewhat lonely inside.

Having a great capacity for empathy, Lily tends to be very comforting to those who are sick or distraught. She genuinely cares for her friends and always wants to do something to help. Surprisingly enough, she usually comes through.

Although by no means the fastest or most acrobatic, Lily greatly enjoys flying. She loves going fast and can often be seen performing little tricks. She's always up for a race but doesn't really mind losing. She also really likes watching very athletic and gifted fliers display their talents.

Overall, Lily enjoys life and is always up for trying something new. She is passionate but has trouble concentrating on any one thing for too long. Tends to know a little bit about lots of things rather than being deeply skilled or knowledgeable in any particular area. She also has a real fondness for human food and can be bold in acquiring it.

I've been wanting to have a gryphon character for awhile and Leccathu surprised me by sketching up this idea I had for one. You can check out her upload of the artwork here.

When I was four years old, I got an all black cat that was an american shorthair-siamese mix whom I named Blackberry. He had a great siamese voice and was very vocal, mrrrowing and mratting all the time. He also would come to lie down with me whenever I was sick. He made it to just a few days shy of his 19th birthday and lived a very good life. Lily isn't Blackberry by any stretch, but I like to think I put a little bit of him into her, amongst other influences.
