Continuing my 'sweeps month' (September, 2012), here is another 'photo-op' of a celebrity I saw (but didn't get the chance to have it taken with him) at another edition of the Creation Convention (during the late 1980s) in New York City.
This time, it's character actor Al Lewis, who was best known in the role of 'Grandpa Munster' on the 1960s sitcom "The Munsters". (Of course, I remember him ever more in the role of 'Officer Schnauzer' in the early 1960s on another sitcom, "Car 54... Where Are You?". I should remember; I lived in the Bronx - where some of the exterior shots for the show were filmed - at the time.)
A few years after this picture was taken, I had the rare opportunity of dining at Grandpa's, a restaurant in Greenwich Village that Al owned and operated!
(Of course, for more information about the life and career of Al Lewis, you can always visit Wikipedia.)
