Sometimes my subconscious is affected by a theme or even an outfit I see, or a random idea. And it comes together in something like this. Nothing special, but I imagined the scenario where Three had hooked up with a group of workers helping to build a settlement in the desert. The team builds shelters and sets up generators and digs wells, enough to give the people who move in a head start on things. Then when they finish they move on and do it again, or sometimes stop at older projects to do repairs and expansion installs.
Three does grunt work mostly, hammering nails and sawing boards and digging trenches, but she's also good at climbing up into tricky spots to help string wires and install equipment on rooftops. Her white fur keeps the sun from baking her too badly so she's often part of the daytime crew. I imagine the workers as a sort of ragtag group of humanoids and aliens and even a few sentient robots. Even robots gotta eat! Er... refuel!
Yeah, all of that popped into my head today. But a setting isn't a story and I need to figure out what kind of event would happen there to make it interesting. Either way, she seems to like the work.
