These guys do not like to be messed with much. And they blend into the rocks pretty well, so you might not see them until you almost step on them. Then, they fly some distance away and hide again.
Taken in Kickapoo like a year and some change ago. Not the best of shots, but I wanted to get some stuff up that I meant to post a long time ago. I got some catching up to do!

A troll among hoppers, too. These things are pretty big, probably about as long as my hand is wide, and I am not a tiny person. o.o
But yeah, they are kinda jerks. You get close enough to shoot and then they fly off. Took me a good bit of zoom and a steady hand to get a shot like this. XD
