Giftie art for my husband
cinnamon! I draw a lot of toony Tokus in my school notes, and this is one I wanted to play around with a bit, blending a toony character with paint-y coloring. Not sure I achieved what I was going for, but I learned a lot :)
Oh man, I just want to keep tweaking and tweaking this! I still don't feel like it's "done", but it's been sitting in Photoshop in various states of almost-done-ness for a couple weeks now, so I might as well upload it. The biggest thing I want to go back and work on with it is contrast with the shadows on his face. I'm very much open to critiques, though, if anyone has thoughts!

He's definitely top dog around... wherever he's at. lol. It really does look great.
One thing that kind of bothers me about it is the smoke, though. Being a smoker, I'm used to seeing it a lot, and it definitely never goes in a straight line. There's always a bunch of little, transparent wisps everywhere. Don't have to worry about that if you don't want, though.

As the guy who did the photo that's used in the picture...
I promise it really did look like that, although admittedly while it as resting in the ash tray. I think why it looks a bit unnatural here is because usually the air around the nose/mouth isn't still enough unless you hold your breath. :)
