The Meat.
>>>I don't claim any mastery of ramen let me just say that first and that this is just spiced up package ramen so its cheep and tasty! XD But, me and a friend got together and decided to just have some fun! It was the first time really cooking in my new place and I really enjoyed the results.
This recipie feeds 4 to 6
Ingredients
apprx 3 lbs Angus Chuck Roast (all I had XD)
4 to 5 stalks Celery
4 to 5 Carrots peeled
1 to 2 Onion
1 fresh Ginger root
2 baby Bok Choy
Green onions to taste
Sprouts to taste
4 eggs
5 to six packs of beef ramen noodles
Soy sauce
Water
salt to taste
garlic powder to taste
Preheat oven to 375F (on bake if you have that option).
Dice of celery and carrot, about a half cup, 1 cup Julienne onion, and a fine julienne of 1 whole ginger root.
Now fill your baking dish about 1/3 to 1/2 the way up the side of the meat and fill the rest with water so that it just covers the meat. Add the celery, carrot, onion, ginger, evenly around the dish, salt and garlic powder to taste. put in the oven for 2.5 to 3 hours (depending on the oven of course) uncovered, on the middle rack and don't touch it...well except about 15 minutes before you pull it out of the oven throw some sliced green onion ontop of it!
The Fished Meat!
Yummy I can't describe to you how good this smells! The meat should be tender and moist. It should be alittle crispy on top and falling apart where the fat and connective tissues used to be.
The Fixin's!
So I chose baby Bok Choy, Green onions, celery sprouts, Carrots, and onions. I did poach, 4 eggs.
And I didn't have time to cause it was getting late, but I'd recommend blanching the carrots, celery and baby bok choy then quickly (about 20 to 30 seconds) putting them in a cold ice water bath
I put 6 packs of ramen in 9 cups of water and used 4 of the spice packs and it turned out wonderful. Put this on about 10 to 15 minutes before the meats done so your water can boil and cook the noodles for 3 minutes. Serve and dress how you like!
The Glorious ramen!
This was really really fun to make and way more fun to eat! It might sound like a lot to do but its didnt take any time at all. I'de recommend saving some of the juice from your roast and spooning alittle bit of that beefy gingery soy sauce on top of everything for an added kick of flavor! But everything turned out really nicely. And if you didnt get a chance to blanch them just let your ramen sit for a couple of minutes and the veggies will cook in the broth! Bon appetite!
