*shrugs* Nevermind the haters... People seem to be particularly harsh about photomanipulations... The only way you could make someone more uncomfortable is to make it one that is sexual in nature: smut that looks off seems ten times worse than clean art with the same sort of flaws... maybe people think that if you aren't "mature" artistically (AKA making the art realistic/attractive) then you aren't allowed to handle mature topics in art...
...Photomanips seem to sport a similar curse. I think theres some sort of subconscious awkward intimacy that lurks behind placing photos in a fantasy art sites. People come to these sites to imagine the world is a more visually beautiful, less malformed/imperfect place, and seeing less than beautiful, attractive, *ideal* subjects in photos is like a cold splash of water or a slap in the face to them... like placing an obese, acne ridden, old man right in the middle of a magazine filled with shapely, smooth skinned young women.
...It seems some folks think they should attack the one "responsible" for so "rudely" snapping them out of their reverie... I think that's rather inconsiderate, perhaps even sociopathic... To me this work seems rough, but everyone starts somewhere, and improves as they practice. I for one could appreciate seeing this more rough work become more polished as time goes by... and encourage you to keep working at it, rather than being cruel and passing on harsh and snippy insults... without at the very least offering some form of advice on how you might improve on certain given mistakes.
...its those folks who attack rough, developing art and artists who ultimately ruin self confidence, and ultimately just cause artists to give up... leading to less and less awesome art. Its counterproductive and stupid.
As a sort of protest at those who attack photomanipulations, I am actually getting a commission of myself being turned into a flammie by the artist whiteflameK... And frankly, I bet I will look silly or absurd, though my hopes are that I end up looking cute, or even sexy or beautiful. If I get criticism, I will thank the critic if he offers ways it can be improved. If not, I'll just laugh in their face, continue similar projects, and enjoy making them squick and shudder until they finally get over themselves.
...I think this work shows alot of promise... so I'll make sure to comment on what I like about it and others you've done in the future... and point out things I don't like, hopefully without sounding like a douche, and try to offer constructive criticism on how certain things might be improved (though truth be told, I know little about the technical aspects of photomanipulation, so I have no idea if I will offer any particularly useful advice.)

i know im not a gold coin to have everyone there like my stuff, but it comes with the territory.
i do this because i like it, and no matter how many dislikes or hurtful comments come at me, i will only stop when i dont have any time at all for this, or i just get bored.
speak freely dude, no worries.
