"Quick, don't let the beast get away." The scout yells.
"I'll not have them killing my men any longer!" The leader of the patrol growls.
"It can't have gone far." Another points out.
"I'm afraid this group might be too small for such a task." The rookie his fear.
"We can't spare anymore troops, the rest must protect the camp." The leader says.
The group moves quickly, weapons at the ready, following the tracks in the darkness, the hissing of the beast gives it's position away.
A hiss that resembled a lizard's. It's tail glows an eerie blue in the night, as does it's shoulders and eyes.
The finally come upon a cave, dark, wet damp. But has the remains of a tattered camp, broken chairs, tables. The group had arrived and made camp, lived for a small while, and was unaware of the beasts deeper into the cave. Their noise had brought them out.
At the mouth of the tunnel entrance, a beast leaps from the top and lands on the rookie, claws attempting to rip. But soon it loses to a more experienced fighter. The rookie escape with minor scratches. He shakes, but grips his weapon even tighter, looking for his revenge.
Entering the cave the beasts crawl on the ground, the walls, and even the ceiling.
The battle rages, the rookie quickly rises into a warrior as he fights just as valiant as the experienced fighters.
All the beasts are met with, the scales and hide are valuable and rare, as so many fear the creatures. The chemical that lights their tails and shoulders is a sign of strength, and are prized.
The camp returns to their camp, which harbors their king, and what is left of the civilization that he rules. They are saved, and have enough supplies and earnings to begin rebuilding their torn kingdom.
