I took these pics while I was at work. There was a pair of them and I guess the female had a scarey run in with a car and was taking a break in the trees behind the building. The male was waiting near by in another tree keeping watch. They were a beautiful pair.

I always thought of them being like.. darker brown. and like.. having a red tail. This one is like.. bright and has an orange tail..

.. damn kids dunking hawks in bleach.

Well, I'm pretty sure it's a red tailed hawk (IF anyone finds differently - please say so!) but I believe that they are able to come in a few shades.... I think that's what the wiki said anyway... Very pretty bird either way!

Yeah, but I'm used to seeing the mostly brown one from the cover of Animorphs books.
