Ive been a busy rat today I got the urge to finish up some of my model commissions and this is the latest one done; the Echto 1A for
havoc214
Its an old AMT kit and thus the body was warped, the decals SUCKED, the mold lines were many, the trim lines were too thin...but I'm good at what I do and this is the results. Just to be cheesey I parked it next to some other iconic movies cars from my collection. The Black on Black from Mad Max the Mini from Goodbye pork pie and the Time machine from back to the future.
Like most of the model car pics I'll be pulling this one down eventyually so save the pic if you like it.
I'm actually going to show the car at a local contest next month and then its off to its new owner. Hope you like it wolf man.

That's actually the siren that those ambulances had back in the day. Its a mechanical claxon that works in the same way the old air raid sirens did back in the 2nd world war. The idea being that the different sound/tone would let people know it was an ambulance not a fire truck or something else.
I like that sound :)
One of my favourite scenes is watch closely when they leave the mayors office when Peter Venkman says "Come on lets run some red lights" and you watch that heavy behemoth (who'd only undergone a bit of tarting up for the film) bounce completely undersprung as it turns right around the corner. How on earth could they get you anywhere fast let alone a hospital.
The other favourite was the pull back aerial shot of Ecto going along to early 80's techno music across a bridge with the brooklyn bridge and the twin towers in the background :)
And who couldn't like when the Con Ed guy shuts off the storage unit XD I did like the ghoulish Checker cab driver too.
I loved how early 80's and mid to late 70's movies were very realistic, the actors weren't what you'd call "traditionally good looking" much less make up so people actually looked different and had people of differing ages rather than all about mid to late 20's
Places weren't "cleaned up" for filming
Can you do a 4door Pontial Lemans Hardtop (Pillarless) like 'popeye' drove in "The French Connection" :) I love those things

And who can forget the classic:
"Hey you can't park that here"
"Everybody can relax I found the car. Needs some suspension work, and shocks and brakes, brake pads (even though they were all drum), linings, steering box, transmission, rear end."
"How much?"
"Only 48 hundred...maybe new rings, also mufflers, a little wiring"
