Don't reject it because it's unusual - it'll still taste the same in your stew.
So there's apparently this new proposition to allow wonky fruit and veg into British supermarkets, because the rain this year has made crops so terrible that not using the weird veg is considered wasteful.
Ummm.. why wasn't it considered wasteful anyway? :| What kind of world do we live in where our vegetables have to be uniform in shape?
I <3 vegetables

Would it be alright if I featured this via tumblr? [it'll have the title ''Wonky Veg'' by Foxbane, linking to this image directly so <:] I'd love to help this get seen more, it could probably really help a lot of people, it brought my spirits up definitely, which is quite rare cause a piece never really touches me in a way this did.. I don't know.
You silently pulled off so much in this image, bullying and discrimination for looks, weight, maybe the way you walk or talk, sexuality, beliefs, anything that's a flaw or something someone just doesn't like about you, and you made the point of what is really different? like how a carrot will taste the same in the stew, however a human wont and I sure hope no one has tried lol, but we're all made of the very exact same, same bones, same muscles, same intestines, heart placement, skin, feelings etc. Sure some are larger than others, some have an extra limb or part, some have pimples some don't, some are round some are slim. That man is blind but he still has eyes like us, that woman can't hear but she still has ears, that woman is with another woman, but her feelings for her partner are the very same you have for yours, and really there's no difference in the human itself and they shouldn't be tossed out and discriminated like the wonky carrots. And personally, I've had a few wonky carrots and I must say they are the most fun, and you get extra :D
If I sound dumb right now I was woken up way too early to do my brothers chores and I am tired but yEAH

Well Im just a big dumb American... I (give myself a bit of credit, I hadn't really considered it before now) just assumed they were all uniform in the stores, because, well, cuz they were all uniform at the farm =/ We might end up doing that over here with corn, apparently theres a corn shortage on..
I'd eat wonky produce, don't matter to me what they look like, they'd still taste the same.
It's not something many people think about because mostly our only experience of vegetables is what you get in stores! We've started growing our own though and even with things like bell peppers they can have weird growths or 'baby peppers' inside them... but carrots are especially fun:

Sometimes if there's a rock in the ground they'll try to grow round it, and sometimes two carrots will twist around each other... some people try to grow them for fun or for contests!

I've been really good! Just finished a year out before uni- done some work in Marketing, done some travelling which was incredible, had an all-round fantastic time really. :D And now I start at Durham next Sunday, which I'm looking forward to!
How about you? I haven't seen you around in ages! ^^ How is the design going? And the skunks? :D

That sounds like a great year out! I'd love to do some traveling, I haven't had a chance to yet.
Awesome that you're starting at Durham - I lived there until very recently - now I live about half an hour away.
I'm doing well - I feel like I'm back on track with my life - I pretty much had no time to do anything last semester because I was struggling so much after my Dad died, but I feel like I've refreshed myself over the summer and I'm back to doing the stuff I enjoy. :D The skunks are great, same as usual (currently fattening up for the 'hibernation' they don't even need... and shedding everywhere. There is skunk hair all over the house!)

Yeah, it was kind of a tough decision to take the year out (what with uni fees tripling and stuff) but I didn't want to miss the chance since I didn't know if I'd have the time/money again.
And ahh, I didn't know that! For some reason in my head you were always in the northwest. No idea why, had no reason to think that. :P
I'm glad to hear things are going well! I can't even begin to imagine what that was like, I'm sure it throws everything off balance. I think I said it at the time but again, I was really sorry to hear about your loss. Good to hear you are enjoying yourself again though, and I definitely enjoy seeing all the art :D Haha, they sound adorable! Apart from the skunk hair. We got two cocker spaniel puppies under the impression that whilst they weren't shed-free, they wouldn't be too bad. Ten months later and there is fur everywhere. Oh well. At least they're cute!
