Mosin-Nagant "Luna"
I'm such a retard that it's completely awesome. *epic face*
I've been working on this thing for a while now and it's finally done. It looks great, shoots great, is great. Taking pictures of it is problematic though because being an M91/30 it's friggin long. But I have made it 20% cooler.
But yeah, it was imprisoned in the moon for a thousand years, now it's here to make absurdly loud noises and knock over targets with the shock wave.

Well I was kind of joking about it being awesome as a rifle, it's kind of crude, but it's damn near unkillable. The elevation adjusts to 2000 meters, I doubt it would do anything that far though. Accuracy, depends on a million things, mosins can be sniper accurate, fairly accurate, or not really accurate at all. This one was rearsenaled so the barrel is in good shape and I've had fairly good accuracy from the irons on it. Hard to say if it's sniper good without getting a scope on it and doing some bench rest shooting. The action is classic soviet clunky but it always works. Power is very close to .308Win, and recoil is hilarious.
A Mosin is worth buying as a toy, you can literally get the rifle and 400 rounds of ammo for under $200. It's stupid. But for a more serious rifle I have a PTR-91. The L9 does look pretty cool though, I'll have to keep an eye out and take a look at one if I ever see it.
I am tempted to start doing a kit build of an AR15. Everything I have looked at in how to do this always has a warning to have two or three extra springs for everything that requires a spring - cause they tend to launch themselves into hyperspace, never to be seen again.
Im going to go for the std 5.56 NATO caliber - if the shit hits the fan see, it will be found everywhere.

I can understand that. I never had to use the "added later" Forward assist when I was in Basic. And I spent a lot of time crawling in sand dragging my M16 with me. We were well informed on its shortcomings and what had been fixed since then, but the first impressions thing is still a sore point, with a nod to the fact that the sore point is well deserved.
Back in my youth I bought a dirt cheap Chinese Norinco SKS ( Basically, an AK-47 clone with no full auto, a stripper clip loading mech, and a 10 round non detachable mag.) Immediately I bought a synthetic stock that was a bit longer, and a mod kit so I removed the "fixed" mag and it could accept AK-47 clips. At that time, it still had the bayonete lug, and had the spike bayonete with it. After getting a good scope for it, and a brass deflector to keep it from beating the hell out of the scope...
I bought a 100 round drum mag, loaded it one year when I got my Deer season permit.
Running into a forest warden looking like I was about to strike an assault was not pretty. I got my drum confiscated.
The drum was a bit pricey so that sucked - the ammo - i bought this cheap ass Chinese stuff by the case, so it was around 20 cents a round to 7.62x39 - semi corrosive primer stuff. Not an issue if you keep your firearms clean, BTW.

the SKS is a pretty good gun, the MAC90 even better cause it's an SKS that takes AK magazines lol!
A gun I went through that was just as reliable as the AK and SKS was the Mini-14. Excellent little Ruger it was, .223 chambered, and never jammed with the factory mags. Had put a folding stock on it, and a scope at one point. Kinda miss it lol! My current AR i was thinking about buying a drum for, but for 3-gun and RNG it's pretty useless cause it's all that added weight, and if it jams up, you just lost probably close to 100 rounds haha! though for 130 bucks, and maybe buy one of them SSR Bump Fire stocks, it could be a really fun range idea XD
Btw, you seem really cool, we should talk more haha

Not a fan of the paint job, but that's my opinion...
Though, a plus... is the quality of which you did it, professional quality work.
I'm a fan of the Nagant revolvers and rifles, they make good hunting rifles if you sight them properly and account for the inaccuracy that sometimes occurs if you don't cork the barrel.
