Whilst its safe for squatting, Id still not have that sticking upwards, if you fell awkwardly you could stab your back or get it caught in something if you swung you leg too hard backwards (Although the first one could also get caught in a wall if swung too hard), the middle may not be as pretty but it wouldn't cause as many problems.

Armor on sergals is like armor on a tiger, bad assery ontop of natural born bad ass.

Still though as much as the blade looks cool I can't see too many good uses in combat and some hurt in mobility at times instead.

I'd suggest a switch blade design personally.

Do a proper kick with the right amount of swing and the blade unlocks and flips out to a position under the foot.
Either swing out from the side away from the wearer and locking into place or behind swinging from the top and swinging down until it locks into place. The former might seem less awkward in combat.
The blade would need a guard to protect the foot though which knowing sergals they would want to hold onto it with their feet. Being nimble and tenacious as they are.
The handle/guard could help hide the blade in the armor too.

Technique wise when unsheathed the user could stand on front of their feet or simply on one leg as they move and jump with their kicks.

I could see the last one work with an awkward backward stab but the middle one could work with a flexable stabbing move. Though it could benefit from a switchblade hidden style as well. Maybe even just pop out to that state then with another switch it'll move downward into a holdable position.

Sergals are strong and fast piece of team. they looks like knight with horse.
Nevreans are good at shooting and make traps.
Their body are small, nice aim and operating.
perhaps Nevrean soldier are best for drive machines that is kind of tanks.
