A lovely painting done by Natoli for
DragonLovers, the original piece is here (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8907710/ ),so if you have any comments about the style, skill, etc. please leave them directly with the artist herself
This one was inspired by a song called (Dance) “Into the Night” by Santana which can be found here if you care to listen to it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E39MEY-5CDA ). In particular the passage that applies to this picture is as follows:
Like a piece to the puzzle that falls into place,
You could tell how we felt from the look on our faces,
We were spinning in circles with the moon in our eyes,
No room left to move in-between you and I,
We forgot where we were and we lost track of time,
And we sang to the wind as we danced though the night.
For obvious reasons in the difference in physiologies, it’s not so easy to have a quadrupedal and a bipedal dancing together, so I provided Natoli with a cart blank on how she wanted to tackle it. I had expected myself to be on all 4’s as normal and Shato to be engaged in mildly complex grip that involved neck, wing edge and maybe foreleg, but lo and behind a more elegant solution was found!
To anyone who questions the plausibility of such a stance, I say you must have never had a dog in your family (a real one, not a miniature yap box). Anyone who’s had a puppy must have at some point been engaged in a similar position, dancing with your excited dog on some occasion or another! And in this particular case, the addition of a nice strong tail to act as a third limb for balancing makes it all work out and yields this lovely piece.
The lovely scenery and spectacular effects, particularly on the moon, captured the intimate mood perfectly. Shato especially likes the flowers which are exquisitely done, but don’t detract from the main scene, just the way it should be
Thank you for the excellent work Natoli, yet another piece that turned out superbly! It was a pleasure to be able to watch you transform it from line art into a painted masterpiece, we both highly enjoyed experience!
