A wishful shot of Saara on the porch of Homefall in Willow Run. You can see the Ozbourne Hills north of town in the background. The photos in the album -- shown somewhat surreally -- show Petl Lindsey, a young Kjola adopted by human parents, a photo of me, Marc Schirmeister, and Ken Fletcher at Red Rock Canyon (this really happened by the way), Tangel' and finally a group shot of the Offworlders (or Outworlders) Club members. The later is dated nearly 20 years earlier, before Saara, Tangel' or I came to Willow Run, and the club members look a little younger than I've drawn them other times.

Considering how much time has gone by since I "invented" her, I guess she must have grown up. By now she much be in some sort of Kjola/Dalmirin school unlearning bad habits picked up from her adopted human parents. (Which would have been an unofficial experiment of sorts.)
The fur on Kjola becomes blue from the knees down and elbows forward, looking like gloves and stockings. Saara's toes aren't very distinct for the same reason they aren't on cats -- the fur sort of softens the cleavage. She only has the three toes, like a cartoon character. Symmetry between the fore and hind paws is just a mammal thing, and terrestrial. No law of nature requires symmetry.
(Actually, I was indecisive about just how many toes Saara had for years, but decided to stick with the original number so that the early drawings would remain consistent.)
