I had no idea back in highschool when he was doing all this stuff in his basement, experimenting and learning, practicing, making CDs to sell to his friends, how big he was going to get! We used to hang out, but he started getting so involved in his music and games and everything else he does that I ended up spending more time with his brother when I was at his house! He's a great guy and he works like a dog, I'm so happy for him that he's doing so well!
Old house** Hasn't lived there in years! If we were close enough to justify the camaraderie I'd say I was proud of him. I'm glad I met him before he was a superstar :p

With a massive grain of salt, go to http://www.myspace.com/wearedetergent for a little joke band he and some friends pretended to have back in High-school, they mostly used it as a front to make hilarious videos to submit as projects, rather than doing written work. They made music videos for Old Man and the Sea and The Tempest, if "Old guy in the Driveway" and "The Gullywasher" (respectively) were available online I'd tell you where to find them!

They were parodies of books they read in English, they filmed little short retellings of those two books and filled them with goofy music videos, they're embarrassingly silly compared to how professional he is now, but they were all in good fun. They submitted them in place of written work and got excellent marks by default. But like I said, 2005... It's been a while :p Youtube didn't even exist back then!
